Art+Business: Mega Boom!

$10,000

Kaylie and Hagan took first place across all categories
in the MSU E-Week Final Competition on Friday:

Art+Engineering.

What started as a novelty tea accessory
now has potential application in pediatric oncology

VIBE began as a Graphic Design class project.
Kaylie (Graphic Design/Communications) developed the concept
and the early packaging and mechanics.

She then partnered with Hagan (Engineering)
to refine and develop the technical aspects of the VIBE prototype.

As they worked together on the prototype and packaging,
they envisioned the various market applications for VIBE.

They then partnered with the MSU E-Center
to structure a financial plan and refine their market analysis.

They pitched VIBE to the MSU Entrepreneurship Center Advisory Board
and received a $1,000 grant.

Two weeks later, they competed in MSU E-Week:

The partnership of art and engineering,
in an entrepreneurial business setting
accelerated and strengthened this project.

Here is a recap of the seed money they earned this semester:

E-Week Top Startup (all categories): $10,000
E-Week People's Choice: $250
E-Week Elevator Pitch (People's Choice): $250
E-Week Prototype Startup (1st place): $3,500
Initial grant given by the MSU Entrepreneurial Center Advisory Board: $1,000
