Fiber and Paper Arts Club went to Ackerman, MS last Saturday

to visit Main Street Fabrics in anticipation of our sewing workshop

with the one and only, Nancy Losure -

friend and member of the Golden Triangle Quilt Guild.

And we would have eaten at Pap's, but they did not open until later in the day.

Small town, old time hours are kept in Ackerman.

On Tuesday, Sculpture II critiqued their kinetic projects.

We made it through three projects, and had a peek at the remaining four.

Jill installed a beach, Michael drew with acoustics, and Shelby painted with a hoop.

This week, Shelby experimented with action painting.

The kick-off for the Spring 2014 One Night Only

student exhibition series was last Friday, February 7.

Hal Boerner and Shelby Nichols are studying gallery management

and overseeing the Metal Shop in Howell Hall.

They presented their own work for the first show

to gain a sense of the entire process.

The One Night Only series provides students in all concentrations

the opportunity to exhibit their work in small two-and-three person shows.

The Metal Shop is a pristine gallery space

in the MSU sculpture department's dirty rough metal shop.

Gallery prep is essential.
